This session began with introductory remarks from Michael Goldman, Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy in Australia, on geopolitical competition and how it is driving developments in space. The remarks were followed by a panel discussion exploring the rapid commercialisation of space, how this is adding new actors and complexity to operations in space, and whether or not it will lead to cooperation, competition or contest.
