New Space: Geopolitical and Commercial Drivers of Opportunity and Risk in the New Space Age

This session explored the increasing importance of the space economy and the impact this could have on great power competition. The session also discussed whether commercial actors are driving the expansion of human activity in space, and whether more governance of space activities is needed.

Speakers in this session included: Major General Philippe Adam, Space Commander, French Air and Space Force, Carissa Bryce Christensen, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, BryceTech, Dr Will Crowe, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, HEO Robotics, Professor Alan Duffy, Professor in Astrophysics and Pro Vice Chancellor of Flagship Initiatives, Swinburne University of Technology, Benedikta von Seherr-Thoss, Managing Director, Common Security and Defence Policy, European External Action Service and Dr Jong-Shinn Wu, Director General, Taiwan Space Agency.
