AUKUS, Technology and the Role of Intelligence

AUKUS will be the most significant strategic technology partnership in Australian history. It will transform Australia's defence capabilities and could represent a strategic game changer in the Indo-Pacific region. This session looks at how Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom can maximise the strategic benefits of the AUKUS partnership. It also discusses some of the impediments to realising the full potential of AUKUS, and explores the wider implications of the partnership, including the capabilities it will develop for the intelligence community.

Speakers in this session included: the Hon Susan M. Gordon, Director at CACI International, Blacksky and Security Scorecard and Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Defense Innovation Board, Sir Stephen Lovegrove, Former National Security Adviser in the United Kingdom, Andrew Shearer, Director-General of the Office of National Intelligence and Professor Michelle Simmons AO, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Silicon Quantum Computing and Director of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology.
